FE Learner Support funds - Hardship
Although the main source of student financial support is through the Educational Maintenance Allowance Scheme / Adult Learning Grant the College does offer support to students who have proven hardship. Help towards excess travel costs, and books/equipment are the two main areas for support, but any circumstance that prevents a learner from attending college or makes them consider leaving can be considered for support.
Application forms for support are available from Student Support Advisers. The College aims to give a response to a learner's application within 10 working days.
For additional information or to make an enquiry you can contact Student Support by telephone on 01642 298821 or contact Student Support here through the web site

The Hardship Fund
The college understands that everybody is human, and from time to time people will lose their purse / forget their packed lunch / lose their bus pass. Student Support can issue small emergency loans to cover such immediate and unforeseen hardship. Often these loans are provided in the form of a voucher for the refectory or the Art Box for the purchase of urgent materials. These loans are expected to be repaid the next day.

Further Education Residential Bursaries
As a specialist college of art and design, CCAD participates in the National Residential Bursary Scheme. Residential Bursaries are available for full-time Further Education learners who wish to study at the College but who live beyond normal daily travelling distance. The Residential Bursary can fund such students either to live in rented accommodation close to the College or to contribute to the cost of travel where students prefer to stay at home. The value of the bursary is up to £80.00 a week for students living in rented accommodation. Applications are means tested so the amount you receive will depend on the sources of income available to you.
