People often ask "Where is Cleveland?" and there are not many places where you can say that you have it all – coast, country and city life are all on our doorstep.

Cleveland College of Art & Design is in the Tees Valley, a remarkably striking region of the country. The old industrial heartlands of ICI and British Steel contrast with the modern shopping centres of the region’s five main towns. The stunning landscapes of the North Yorkshire Moors and the remarkable coastline of the North East – the Tees Valley has a lot to offer any student wishing to study a Degree Programme.

The region has inspired many people throughout the years, including many notable former Cleveland College of Art & Design students such as the famous film director, Sir Ridley Scott, cartoonist and creator of Bob the Builder, Curtis Jobling and renowned artist, Mackenzie Thorpe.

The Tees Valley is conveniently placed between Newcastle to the north and York to the south, offering yet more facilities, both educational and relaxing, within comfortable travelling distance. Travel around the country and to Europe is also cheap with low cost airlines flying from Durham Tees Valley Airport to Heathrow and numerous European destinations.

Cost of living is low compared to other regions of the country, with rent as low as £45 per person per week, but can go as high as £130 per week if you fancy a luxury 2 bedroom flat on the Marina development in Hartlepool.
