Programme details:-
This programme is about exploring a broad range of approaches to the culture of photography. By keeping up to date with new developments and debates, you will discover the work of established photographers, some well known and others new to you. The course offers an engaging environment if you are interested in the potential of a background in fine art photography.
Through a series of set and self-initiated projects, you will develop creative and technical skills appropriate to contexts such as documentary, landscape, portraiture and fashion.
In your first year (level four) you will identify and build upon your skills through practical assignments. You will have experience of all types of equipment, processes, materials and genres of photography, working on location and in studios.
The second year (level five) will allow you to further develop specialist skills appropriate to your progress as an individual, and have opportunities for work placement. You will be encouraged to see, think and take creative risks as an individual.
In your final year (level 6) you will use your practical, analytical and critical skills to complete personal assignments, a dissertation and a final major project. As an individual you will gain full independence and professionalism, clarifying your future in photography.
Professional studies support students at all levels to think about and plan their future careers.
