What you will do

  • Challenge your creative thinking
  • Develop and refine your questioning skills, explorative skills and all aspects of your communication skills
  • Understand the design process in its widest context such as the creative industries
  • Become a flexible learner developing your own personal package of discipline choices such as, 2D and 3D visual art, graphic design, fashion, textiles, interactive media, and photography
  • Learn about the creative industries and how they may influence your future decisions
  • Work on ‘real life’ briefs, meet professionals and gain a ‘real’ understanding of the creative industries

Entry Requirements;
4 GCSE’s at grade C or above – preferably Maths/English

Assessment;
Takes place throughout the course, both externally and internally, comprised of course work and examinations. To gain the full qualification you need to achieve in all areas of the course. Final grade is based on the final project and principal learning.

Progression;
Tailored to individual progression path, such as BA or FdA in any of the following subjects Fashion, Textiles, Graphics, Illustration, Photography, Fine Art, Applied Arts, Costume, Design for Entertainment, Film/TV, Community Art, Arts Business, Arts Education.

Leads to a future career in;
Access all areas: Arts Education, Teaching, Community Art, Commercial Photographer, Curator, Applied Artist, Arts Development, Fine Artist, Set Designer, Jewellery Designer, Interior Designer, Carnival Artist, Illustrator, Project Manager.
