4 GCSEs at grade C or above plus portfolio of artwork to study a BTEC Extended Diploma and a NCFE
5 GCSEs at grade A-C plus portfolio of artwork to study a BTEC Extended Diploma and an A-level
The portfolio, could include the following; drawings, design work, craft work, technology products, textiles, photographs and even personal artwork that interests you.
What will I study?
- A wide range of art and design practices, before specialising in a particular area.
- Experimental and expressive drawing skills
- Work with a diverse range of materials techniques and processes
- Challenge your creative thinking through live briefs
- Work collaboratively and individually
- Create both 2D and 3D outcomes
- Learn to use computers as drawing and design tools
- Explore working in the community and art education
- Look at progression paths, careers, jobs and prepare appropriate portfolios
- Develop a Final Major Project of your own chosen interest
What else can I study?
You will have the opportunity to study an A-Level in Three Dimensional Design or a NCFE qualification.
What can I do after this course?
The course will prepare you for progression onto an Honours Degree, Foundation Degree or other appropriate progression routes. You will be able to apply for a wide range Higher Education courses such as Fashion, Textiles, Entertainment for Design Crafts, Fine Art, Arts Education, Arts Management, Graphics, Costume, Illustration and Photography.
